There is a Verona that never makes it onto the postcard itineraries. It is the one that gathers in the evening in Via Bentegodi, that fills outdoor terraces under the Veronese stars, that on June 27 marches through the city centre waving rainbow flags to full-volume music. Verona is a surprisingly inclusive city — for those who know where to look. This guide is exactly that map.
LGBTQ+ friendly bars and venues in the centre: where to go night after night
The undisputed landmark is Luclà Café, at Via Marcantonio Bentegodi 4/A, less than 300 metres from the Arena. The bar sits 300 metres from the Arena di Verona and is very easy to reach, just off Corso Porta Nuova. During the day it works as a neighbourhood café; in the evening it shifts gear entirely. From 19:00 onwards it becomes the main gathering point of the LGBTQ+ community. The welcoming terrace and relaxed atmosphere make it particularly appreciated by the queer community. Approximate opening hours (always verify directly): Mon–Fri 07:00–02:00, Sat–Sun evening opening. Prices are roughly 10–15 euros for an aperitivo with snacks.
Those looking for a night with a dance floor cannot miss Milord. It is a gay night featuring an aperitivo and dance, pop and Italian trashy pop music across three rooms; the main event falls on the last Sunday of each month, but smaller private parties multiply throughout the month. Paper invitations can be found at Luclà itself and at Robyz Bar & Cucina: the latter is open Monday to Saturday with live music evenings, DJ sets, drag shows and "proud" aperitivos, and collaborates with Verona Pride on special events. Friday evenings are famous for the aperitivo with risotto al tastasal — a Veronese classic that here becomes something of a political act in its own right.
For those seeking a more alternative, women-centred evening, there is also LesBeat at the Gin Gin Club in Via Veglia 4 (Borgo Roma): it regularly hosts queer nights and nights for queer women, with DJ sets and dancing until dawn.
Pianeta Milk Arcigay and Tumulto Pride: community beyond the cocktail
Behind the venues lies a solid network of associations. Pianeta Milk Arcigay Verona is the anchor point of the LGBTQIA+ community in the city. The headquarters is located at Via Scuderlando 137, in the Borgo Roma neighbourhood, not far from the exhibition centre. It is reachable by several urban bus lines from Porta Nuova and the historic centre. The centre is open on Wednesday evenings from 21:00 to 23:00 for information, membership and library access. Inside there is also the Oberon Library/Media Centre: it collects materials — books, magazines, films — expressing LGBTQI culture, available for consultation or loan. A place worth visiting for its own sake, if only to understand how deep the roots of this community run in the city.
The most anticipated event of 2026 is the Tumulto Pride. It will return on June 27, 2026, for the second consecutive year. Rete Verona Rainbow chose the date in reference to the Stonewall uprising of June 28, 1969. This is not a polished, institutional Pride: it is presented as a collective, intersectional mobilisation, built from the ground up, without mediation. The 2025 edition left its mark, with a positive balance entirely donated to charity. If you are in Verona at the end of June, this is the date to mark in your calendar.
Is Luclà Café open every day?
Monday to Friday it operates on continuous hours from 07:00 to 02:00. On Saturday and Sunday opening is in the evening (from around 19:00). Always check their Instagram/Facebook page for updates and special nights.
How to take part in the Verona Tumulto Pride 2026?
